Returned to my sister’s house and continued on the cat house/green house. BTW, the man in the pictures are our father.

As a birthday present to my sister we are helping her build a green house that doubles as a cat house. One half windowed in to create a good environment for plants, the other half with some mesh nets instead of windows to make the cats happy.

Jag köpte en ansenlig mängd malet kött och frigjorde plats i frysen. Idag skulle det göras köttfärssås, mycket köttfärssås. Jag är inte så ofta i köttaffären utan handlar för det mesta kött på ICA vilka inte har gjort sig kända för att hantera kött på bästa sätt. Så när jag nu tagit mig till köttaffären (Wästchark) så tänkte jag att jag köper på mig en ordentlig laddning malet kött så har jag så det räcker ett tag. Tänkt och gjort. Jag köpte 5kg blandfärs för 46kr/kg. Rätt skapligt för bra kött. Passade på att köpa ett par korvar med namnet Gulayer (stavas säkert inte så), de är starka och  goda och kan ätas som snacks eller på mackorna.

I alla fall. Väl hemma med en kass full med malet kött så fick det förvaras utomhus tills dagen därpå eftersom man inte ställer sig och gör storkok kl 20. Så nästa dag införskaffades det passerade och krossade tomater, vitlök och lök och pannorna togs fram. Efter ett jäkla hackande, hällande, stekande, pysande och åter igen hällande så var det klart. 3 timmar tog det. 10 liter köttfärssås! De’ni!

… tror ni inte mig? Tänkte väl det. Så därför filmade jag spektaklet.

I am now officially employed, with salary and everything. This is the place where I’m the BOFH.

I’m just so angry today that I need to get it off my chest. The Swedish government is trying to look good by lowering the statistics of unemployment. To do that all registered unemployed under 25 must not be unemployed for more than 90 days. With that the offices that help people find a job (that also is partly handling allowance) will look bad if they does not meet up to this. So they send out a lot of people under 25 to a stupid computer course. We are still funded by government but not registered as unemployed anymore and the government nice statistics. Don’t think that it’s a teacher lead course. “Study in your own pace” means “Here’s a book, now teach yourself”.

If you wonder what this stupid statistic scam is called, I’ll tell you: Datorteket (Dator=Computer, -tek=-theque (like Discotheque), -et=The (Like the Computheque)).

The print function here should now work. I got a webcam for my birthday and about 2am I was fooling around with it. The hours went by and by 5am the video clip was ready. You might have guessed that I am from time to time quite goofy… well… I guess I set some records this time =). The clip shows fine in both MediaPlayer (for those of you with MS… Windows) and X-Movie.

I am now unemployed. As I’ve got my free time extended I thought I might as well start hacking some GTK app to learn how to do it. I decided to make a visual schnauzer (like in Xv). So far I’ve come up with thumbnail creation (loading if existing else creating and saving) and simple browsing. No viewing or such yet. Now don’t nag me about this one. It isn’t even an official project yet. But if it evolves into something more than a hack and it really is usable I will ofcause release it. No point in releasing something that fills no purpose. I’d prefeer gphoto2+gtkam to evolve into something like ACDSee+Olympus Camedia (for Windoze)… yes I’m lazy =).

This is the result of approx 24 hours of coding, some gimping (yes… the splash window doesn’t really exist and enlightenment doesn’t have such cool shadows under the windows… but the eye-with-a-tree-in-it-image does exist). No use of gui-builders like Glade or even GladeXML. Pure spaghetti-coding (yes… the code ain’t pretty… but it compiles! (sometimes… sometimes not!) ). The images you see in the thumbnails are better not explained as the people in front of the camera is under influense of alcoholic liquids.

After some mail I guess I have to tell you all that since I started working at my new job I am too wasted when I get home to do something creative (like coding). Instead I spend time relaxing. This weekend I played with ripping DVDs in Windows. Now you see. No brains left to be creative anymore. This means that if something is going to happen to any of the programs here someone else have to take them over and start coding them.
